BitDefender, an award winning provider of innovative Internet security solutions, has received its best-ever rating in the latest detection test from respected independent organisation AV Comparatives.

The test examined leading antivirus products for both rate of detection and false positives, scoring them in four categories depending on performance – “advanced +”, “advanced”, “standard” and “tested”. Seven products, including BitDefender Antivirus Pro 2011, were awarded the top “advanced+” rating, and four of these use BitDefender technology.

Viorel Canja, Head of BitDefender Labs, observed: “We’re delighted to receive such positive results from a testing organisation as well respected as AV-Comparatives. What is especially pleasing is the dominance of our technology in the top rated products. “Because the methodology is public, transparent and validated by the industry, it’s a real endorsement of BitDefender as a technological leader.”

In the last twelve months, BitDefender technology has been highly rated in a range of top industry and consumer testing. Alongside recognised high performance with AV Comparatives and AV-Test.org, this has included influential organisations such as Which? in the UK, Stiftung Warentest in Germany and Consumersearch in the US.
